From a Mom's perspective

 Off to a good start

Last night, I had all my nephews and my niece over to spend the night, in addition to my own five. I know I've lost my mind now! But, I'm telling you folks, the more the merrier! I have 3 nephews, 1 niece, so all-in-all there were... yup, that's right, 9 kidlets here last night. My sister's range in age from 6-9 (with a set of twins in there) so they fit nicely with mine. They were all so quiet, and so good! And what's more, they kept the preschooler occupied (because they're his "buddies") much better than my own can. So with 9 kids, I had a little break of sorts although I'm going to declare what hard work it was taking care of them if my hubby or sister happen to ask! They didn't even trash the house that bad.

Now will be the true test, I've got to get them all up out of bed (well, off the couch/floor) and ready for school. Wish me luck!

Losing (lost?) my mind... have you seen it?

These past few days have been stressful, to say the least. Had all 5 kiddlets this weekend, and 2 major tests today. Hubby was supposed to help, but he conveniently disappeared and/or slept through my supposed study time. As a result, I went in this morning on virtually NO outside of class studying. I wasn't *that* worried about it, as the nursing test was really just practice except the part where if we did really well we won't have to take the final... And in physiology anyone with an A or B won't have to go take the final. So not that much pressure but still very frustrating.

And I almost wish it weren't so (because now he will think I'm so smart I never need to study), but I did very well and (somehow) got As on both tests! So I go for clinical evaluation in the morning and then I'm done until April!!!!

Spring break, wooooohoooooo!

I need it.

So terribly frustrating. I haven't had time to EAT all day for taking tests and chasing kiddlets, and I am worn out! I'm also fighting this yucky chest cold, everything hurts, and despite the rather good news on the classes I just want to sit here and cry. Think I'll head back outside, it's too nice and springlike to be depressed and inside today!

Did I mention how frustrated I am today?

Normal... whatever that is around here

Yup, preschooler is back to normal today . I kind of feel like a train ran over me, but the kids are all healthy and happy so I can't complain too much. Just a little. I've done something to my wrist, likely from holding sick preschoolers in funky positions all day yesterday, and my legs and back feel like I spent 8 hours at the gym. But some icyhot and ibuprofen and I'm (somewhat) functional.

I've been trying to study for that pesky physiology test I have tomorrow but without much luck. Hubby is back to working every day, and he will be out of town every weekend from now until June . That's good from a financial perspective, but certainly not for improving my sanity! He gets home around 9:00 or so every night, just in time for kiddie bedtime. I hate this part of year for that reason, but still I'm glad it's almost SPRING!

But this time of year usually feels like I'm a single parent (and kudos to all those who are and actually manage ALL the time like this!) and I haven't had the challenge of having my own schedule to contend with during his busy time. So this year will be interesting to say the least. I'm thankful my mom is close by now and keeps the kiddies for me while our schedules overlap. At least that way I don't have to worry that they're well cared for and happy. They love going to grandma's house.

Well, now preschooler has decided that baby has slept enough and mom has had enough time to herself on the computer for the evening so I guess I'll update more when I find some more time. Thankfully I type very fast!

 Sick kids

Toddler is sick. Well, I really should upgrade him to "preschooler" since he's really not a toddler anymore, but he's sick either way. Hubby went out to pick up Chinese food last night, took preschooler with him, and he threw up all over the floor there. Bet they loved that! They came back and he threw up a couple more times, and now early this morning the diarrhea has started. Poor little guy.

Let's hope it passes quickly and without landing on any of the other children (or parents!).

 Another day of clinicals

I only have one more day of clinicals left in this quarter, woohooo! Yesterday wasn't bad at all, just a long, long day. I was on the run all day long, and was dead tired by the time I made it home at 5ish. Hubby had to work last night too, so I was here with the whole gang but they were good and today I'm ready to do it all again.

My daughter did a bad, bad thing. She talked me into buying the download for the new Sims2 expansion pack (Seasons) KNOWING darn good and well that mom is addicted to that game! So of course after they went to bed I had to stay up half the night down here playing Sims2 . Shame on her (and yes, it's all her fault and I'm taking none of the blame!) Ah well, it will give me something to do over the summer when I have no classes, no job, and half the kiddies are gone to their dad's. For now, I really have to restrain myself somewhat or I might flunk out of my classes from using up my study time playing games .

My friend's little girl is doing better than they expected! They took her off life support, and she started breathing on her own! And she's out of her coma. She is blind, however, and will need several surgeries before they can think about taking her home. But considering they gave her a death sentence a few days ago, that is good news indeed!

It's getting to the end of the quarter, so I might be pretty scarce on the stream while I'm studying for all these tests and finals and such. Can't wait for spring break and, more importantly, SPRING! I love spring!
