From a Mom's perspective

 A kiddie day

That's what today was, a laid-back at home day with the kiddies. All of them. It was very nice, and I think even the teenager enjoyed it for a while! Nice to not have to think about going back to work for a while! Trying to enjoy that while it lasts...

I'm over being mad at dh. He cooked dinner for all of us tonight because they had me so worn out from the day. The kids don't like it when he cooks, but it was heavenly for me . Now if only I could convince him to go do the dishes too... But it is Father's Day tomorrow and all, so I guess I'll have at it.

Nothing much exciting going on here unless you're into candyland, uno (splash version), Guess Who, Clue, or Chutes and Ladders! We're having fun though.

 Nothing til Monday

No houses that is... Going to go look at another one on Monday and see how it goes. And probably one more later next week (the owners are on vacation until Monday). After that, there's nothing else we really want to see or can agree on, so I guess we'll just wait for something else to open up!

I got all the kiddies back from dad today, so we have a full house again! The youngest 2 are fighting already (they love to do that I think!) and really they have been quite trying today. The youngest quite frankly did not sleep NEARLY enough last night, and we are all paying for it today! We really need a better night-night routine. Dh usually takes him up to bed and stays with him until he sleeps, but sometimes (like last night ) he is more interested in getting back to his online poker and gets really angry at ds3 if he doesn't sleep fast enough. Well, there really is no forcing a two-year old to sleep, and I'm quite certain that yelling, screaming, and forcefully holding the child in bed is doing nothing to encourage a peaceful transition to dreamland . I went up and told dh to go back downstairs as he was entirely too worked up, but poor ds3 didn't sleep until after 1 a.m. Seriously thinking of firing dh from bedtime duty, as this has become more and more of a habit. Online poker is no reason to put a child through that, and I enjoy putting him to bed so it seems logical to me...

Had a bad night with dh last night (no, really? couldn't tell! ) and I think everything he did was getting on my last nerve. Started with dinner, when one steak and 3 ears of corn were not enough for this man . He had to eat teenager's steak too (teenager had left before dinner and asked me to keep his until he got home). Then of course it's not dinner without salad so he made one out of half a head of lettuce and 2 tomatoes, then jumped all over ds3 for trying to "steal" some of his tomatoes. Ds3 loves loves LOVES tomatoes, but daddy was having no part of sharing with him. Now tell me, seriously, who needs 2 steaks (not little ones either, full size and all), 3 ears of corn, and a salad, and can't spare a few slices of tomatoes for a two-year-old? I had to slice another tomato for ds3 (not like we didn't have more in there, geez) and cook another steak for teenager. He will eat that much every night and day if it's there, and yet stays steady at 6'4 and 190. Go figure. If I ate like that I'd weight 800 lbs by the end of the year. I don't eat much to start with, and next to him it looks like I eat nothing so I guess I just don't understand how a person could seriously feel "hungry" enough to eat all that. But he swears he does. Every meal. Which is fine when we have it, but I can't stand for someone to take away from the kids (teenager) or not share with the kids (ds3) when there is so much food. Give me a break already, you're not going to starve before breakfast!

So yeah, after that I was already upset and the bedtime fiasco didn't help. Trying hard to be over it today, and it's easier since it's just me and the kiddies for now. Need to get ds3 in bed before he comes home though, or I might lose it...

I'm off to work on that, it's getting to be about that time.

 House #1 Deleted

The outside of the house we viewed yesterday was absolutely beautiful! I'd love to have it just for the yard. Big ole pool, and the end of the property butts up against a small creek. Picture perfect. The inside... not so much. It was laid out really weird, where the bedrooms were spread out all over the house. I wouldn't know where to put the kiddies, one or more of them would be way far away in the other end of the house, and I wouldn't know which one(s) to put there! And then there was the issue of heating. They used a mixture of electric and propane, but the propane heaters were this little wall deal that had big warnings on them "CAUTION: HOT WHILE IN USE" which made me think of little fingers getting burnt. Add to that the kitchen was TINY and I think we'll have to pass. BUt the outside was perfect.

Still waiting for a call back on the other one we want to go look at the inside of. Hope it's more promising.

In other news, I'm off work for 2 whole weeks! Dr thought it would be a good idea to see if my activity level is contributing to the bleeding, so I'm on leave for now. I guess if the bleeding stops with the decreased activity then I'll have to take a more sedentary job or quit for now. I don't know what we'll do if I have to quit for a while, but we'll survive I suppose. I don't really contribute *that* much financially anyway.

And now I think it's time for afternoon naps! Usually I'd be at work by now and half asleep wishing I could have an afternoon nap... Today I'm home and I can actually TAKE an afternoon nap! If ds3 agrees that is...

Not to mention that I've already done the dishes, cleaned the kitchen, done laundry, went on some errands, and... can't remember what all! K, time for

 Down and out

Today has been a roller coaster. I'm supposed to be on bedrest due to the unexplained bleeding, but dh simply had to go work out and play basketball with the guys so I was on duty with ds3. I was in the kitchen making us some lunch when I hear this CRASH from upstairs and then the most blood-curdling scream I've ever heard. I've never made it up the stairs so fast, and I arrive to find ds3 pinned under a 27inch TV . Somehow he pulled it off the stand and it landed on both his legs and had him pinned to the floor.

I managed to get the TV off him and get him out, and he refused to walk or stand or let me touch his right leg, so off to the ER we went (love going to work on my day off ). All the while he was crying and screaming "My boo-boo okay mommy, not see doctor, I'm fine mommy" but still refusing to bear weight or let me touch it. Plus it just kind of freaks you out when you find your 2-year-old pinned under a 27 inch TV! Turns out he was fine, nothing broken (besides the TV) and just a little cut on his knee to show for it. Scared the crap out of mommy, though!

He fell asleep shortly after getting home, so I joined him and had a nice, long nap. Didn't help, though, I'm still feeling the effects of the adrenaline rush I think, and kind of feel like a train hit me. Crampy and bleeding still too, so I hope everything is okay in there with baby shishter .

It's been a crazy day.

Tomorrow we go to check out one of the houses that we both kind of liked, we'll see how that goes. One of the realtors finally decided to call us back and apparently DOES want to sell this house! More on that after we see it tomorrow.

 Still house hunting

Don't realtors want to sell the houses they have listed? Dh and I agreed to go look at 3 houses while we were out doing drive-bys over the weekend. Only 1 of the 3 realtors has bothered to call us back to set up a time, and he left a message last night while we were both gone to work and from the message I can't tell if we're on for today or not . Guess I'll call him back here in a few minutes when it's past 9 and a more acceptable hour to be calling people. Still, you'd think they'd be jumping to show the houses... maybe I was being presumptuous?

More bleeding last night and a little this morning... round 3 of it in the second trimester. Still no good reason for it, but it sure is troublesome. I really would just like to relax and enjoy this pregnancy, but I guess mother nature has other plans for me.

Ds3 has been so cute. Last night as I was putting him to bed, he told me he wanted to sleep on baby shishter. So he laid his little head down on my belly, and my belly must have rumbled or something because his little eyes opened very wide and he said, "Mommy, I hear it baby shishter!" Then he yells "HELLO BABY SHISHTER, I LOVE YOU, THIS IS ME!" SO cute.

He's been doing very well with his potty training too, although he still won't poo in the potty. Still, he really only needs to change his pull-up once or twice a day, so pretty good in my opinion.

Teenager is in summer school, and is happy about it . I had hoped that summer school would be no fun and that he would kind of resent having to get up every morning and go while his friends were out having fun, but my plan kind of backfired. His girlfriend is in summer school too . He's perfectly happy to be there. Oh well, I hope he at least learns something from the experience.

I'm off to call some realtors and see if we can get back to house hunting!
